Welcome to Get Real and Heel 

Get Real and Heel is a tailored 12-week exercise program for most people with cancer supported by the Comprehensive Cancer Support Program at UNC Chapel Hill and The Duke Endowment.  Each expert-led workout consists of cardio, strength, balance and flexibility training and last approximately 1 hour.  The workouts have modifications demonstrated to help you make the exercises fit your needs today. You should consult your care team before starting any workout program.

Is exercise safe for me? 

You should always talk to your care team before starting any exercise program.  However, we do know that exercise is safe for most cancer survivors. We take special consideration when designing our program, providing modifications for limited range of motion, fatigue, neuropathy, and other common treatment related effects. For an extra layer of safety, we require a medical clearance from your medical team.
